Travel to Fragrant Hills Park Beijing

Fragrant Hills Park also called Xiangshan Park is situated in the northwest of Beijing city, about 20 kilometers away from downtown. With an area of 1,600,000 square meters, Fragrant Hills Park is famous for its imperialluxury China tours garden style and abundance of precious cultural and historical relics.
The hills and woods were a favorite country retreat of the emperors. The building of Temples began here in the Jin Dynasty (1186 A.D.) and by the Qing Dynasty, (1745 A.D.) 28 had been erected in the Garden of Congenial Tranquility. In 1860 and again in 1900, the Garden was seriously destroyed by fire and many of the temples and halls ruined. Today, only some of the buildings have been restored. When the Central Committee of the Communist Party moved to Beijing from Hubei, Mao made Double Purity Villa his residence here. Inside the Villa are various displays and cultural relics. However, it's the views of the countryside which are the most attractive thing about the Park. From Ghost Fear peak on a fine day, (Ghosts apparently fear heights !) one can see the Yongding River, Luding Bridge, Prospect Hills, Summer Palace, Yuquan Hill and the outskirts of the city.
Fragrant Hills Park was built in 1186 under the Jin dynasty (1115-1234) and later extended to a large scale in the Yuan and Ming Dynasty. In 1745, Emperor Qianlong ordered (1711-1799), the addition of many new halls, pavilions and gardens and gave it a new name, Jingyi Garden (Garden of Tranquility and Pleasure). Unfortunately, there were in 1860 and 1900 after the Summer Palace and Yuan Yuanming (the old Summer Palace) is set on fire, many relics of the Fragrant Hills were damaged by foreign troops. Since 1949 with the restoration of half a century and the development of the Chinese government Fragrant Hills Park is recognized as one of the ten most famous parks in Beijing.
Xianglu Peak (Incense Burner Peak), Zhao Temple, Jianxin Residence and the Memorial Hall of Dr. Sun Yat-sen are the features of the north part of the park. Xianglu Peak, with an altitude of 557 meters (1,827 feet) is the main peak of the Fragrant Hills. The path to it is rather precipitous and difficult for visitors to climb, but they can reach it by cable car from the north gate of the park, taking eighteen minutes only. From the peak, a panoramic view can be taken in. Zhao Temple was built early in 1780 during the Qing Dynasty to receive the Sixth Panchen Lama. This Tibetan-style temple has a most delicate Paifang (an ancient archway) and a seven-tier glazed pagoda with multi-layered eaves. Jianxin Residence was constructed in 1522, adopting an architectural style prevalent in South China. Emperor Qianlong, the fourth emperor of the Qing Dynasty, used to read and give banquets in this courtyard during his stay at the garden.More China tour tags From Chinatour.com : Tibet Tours | Lhasa Tour
The park is set off by the splendid hill, exquisite lakes and ancient trees. When autumn comes, the leaves of over 94,000 chittamwood trees on the hill begin to turn red, between mid-October and mid-November. Surely, a spectacular scene! So the park Beijing tour is a resort that shouldn't be missed when touring Beijing in autumn.
